Creation

I worked on my site after creating it yesterday and finally started putting together little personal spaces. It's nice seeing everything come together.

Books

I finished reading Agatha Christie's The Secret Adversary before drifting off to sleep. It's the first time I ever read anything on the Tommy & Tuppence Series. I find it underwhelming compared to Hercule Poirot books, but I think I should refrain from judging yet. For the site, I mainly focused on working on Bookshelf, making the day feel shorter. It's kind of hard to recall every book I've read so far, so I'm just adding books as I remember them.

Black Clover

I finished reading Black Clover. It's been a while since I put it on hold, so I forgot most of the side characters. I don't feel like re-reading it just to remember them. It's an okay read, but not really good (for me). The ending is alright. The last few chapters kind of felt fast in terms of pacing, but nothing detrimental that made it bad. I still don't have a favorite character, so I might forget this easily. Still, it's nice to be able to finish something that I've been reading for years.

Birthday

Today is my birthday. I listened to BOYNEXTDOOR's ADIOS! at 12:00 AM as a reminder to myself as I enter my 20s to leave all the regrets from my teenage years behind. It's also a form of grounding to whatever challenges I'll face in the future. I finished playing the demo of Jest Messters after. It was cute, though I wish it was longer because none of my questions got answered. I watched Running Man's episode with TVXQ too, fueling my interest with The Phantom of the Ophera. Up until noon, I was reading Pink & Habanero with barely any sleep. For the celebration, I ordered foods at a cafe and my family members visited. I also got to play games and watch Cosmic Princess Kaguya! with my friends even though we couldn't celebrate in person. I'm thankful to all the people that greeted me, it reminded me of all the little experiences I had that ended up becoming a meaningful part of my existence.

I finished reading Yamada's Class Diary.

Lovesick Ellie and Studio Cabana

I tried reading Lovesick Ellie for fun and ended up finishing it. It feels like a fever dream, though I don't think it was that bad. I don't know if I'm just immune to it, but I did not feel any secondhand embarrassment. I do understand why some people find it cringe though. I also caught up to the latest chapter of Studio Cabana and now I'm scolding myself for reading an ongoing manga again. I need them to get together already, but I love how realistic the characters are being fleshed out, so I don't mind the slow burn that much.

Doki Doki Literature Club!

I played Doki Doki Literature Club! thinking "how bad could it possibly get?" Turns out they were right. It started normally then descended to chaos real quick. I just skimmed through the normal ending since I didn't like it that much to put in the effort to get the good ending. The only thing I liked is the plot twist, it's so creative, and the OSTs. Coincidentally, the exploration of mental health themes made me reflect about my current state. Recently, I feel empty because nothing in my life goes the way I want, which makes me question my own decisions and what is it that I really want to do. Doing nothing feels comfortable, but it also ignites guilt and worthlessness. I know what I want my life to look like, but my body and my environment refuses to cooperate, as if the universe itself is conspiring against me. In the end, I become exhausted before I even get to take action. I've been trying to look for a motivation or reason to live, but even that turns into a tedious task. No matter where I go, I feel suffocated. The worst part is when someone tries to help, it just chokes me more since it appears as selfishness donning the costume of sympathy to me. I wish they could just leave me alone, but not receiving help is lonely. There's a void inside me that cannot be filled no matter how much I try to chase my purpose or distract myself from the problems. Everday is the same day, but whenever I try to get out of my comfort zone, new difficulties come my way.

Needy Streamer Overload

I played Needy Streamer Overload, taking advantage of the discount on Steam. I love the art style and OSTs, though the sea of colors and music was overstimulating at some point after three hours of playing. There were a lot of questionable stuff inside the game, but considering the premise of the story, it didn't feel out of place or unnecessary. I found myself entertained being a stream moderator, the way how people talked reminiscent of actual stream chats. It's unfortunate that I don't have the patience to unlock all the endings because I dislike repetitiveness. Value-wise, I believe it's a good decision to buy it on sale. Other than gaming, I installed Krita because my cousin gave me a drawing tablet that she's not using anymore, so I'm trying to get used to drawing on my PC.

Nostalgia

2016 was ten years ago. This thought didn't really cross my mind until I saw VICTON, a K-Pop group I used to listen to back in elementary and junior high school, post an announcement for their 10th anniversary. While I don't consider myself as a fan, I enjoyed a lot of their contents and songs, reminding me of my youth. Looking back, although I wasn't the happiest kid, there were a lot of things that I find myself missing, such as 3rd generation K-Pop groups and timeless K-Dramas that are still binge-worthy today. I feel like art was more authentic before because they weren't made with numbers in mind, as opposed to now where everyone obsess about charts, popularity, profits, or rankings, making it lackluster because you already know that success is guaranteed for some pieces of media due to integration of various marketing strategies instead of genuine appreciation from the audience. Maybe I'm just being nostalgic, but I can't engage with new generation fandoms for this very reason. I yearn for the sensation evoked by music and shows that painted a picture of golden sunlight showering green foliage on the canvas that is my mind as I consume them. Life was simpler then, but humanity was richer in imagination. After pandemic, I find it hard to recall memories that I'm fond of that were as pure.

Hangout

I went to the mall with my friends. It's very spontaneous but I had so much fun. They have limited hobby stalls so I bought Cardcaptor Sakura merchandise (Clow Cards and Tomoyo) and a Nagumo Yoichi pin. Afterwards, we visited bookstores and did an unserious tarot reading to each other using the Clow Cards. Getting home's kind of exhausting but it was worth it.
